LED Cage Pendants

LED cage pendants feature an open cage design centered around energy-efficient LED light bulbs.

These fixtures combine the functional appeal of LED lighting with the visual geometric appeal of the open cage casing.

Does an Open Cage Pendant Cause Glare?

The open nature of a cage pendant leaves the inner light source exposed, which offers the benefit of added brightness. This can sometimes cause glare, depending on where the pendant light is hung.

To help reduce glare, it’s important to strategically place your fixture or opt for dimmable LED bulbs.

Which LED Bulb Looks Best in a Cage Pendant?

Cage pendants feature an open design which means the LED bulbs inside are on display. When choosing a bulb, make sure to consider how it will look inside the pendant.

Opt for clear bulbs with a LED filament style which look more appealing than the solid block SMD chips featured in some LED bulbs.

What Size Cage Pendant Suits my Space?

Cage pendants are available in a wide range of sizes, from larger statement fixtures to more compact options.

The open, airy nature of the fixtures take up less visual weight which means you can choose larger pendants if desired. Add the room’s length and width in feet to give you a starting point for the pendant’s width in inches.

Where Do Cage Pendants Work Best: Kitchens, Entryways, or Stairwells?

Cage pendants are a great choice for all three spaces, and offer advantages in each. In kitchens, they offer illumination without blocking sightlines over counters or tables.

For entryways, they can serve as an immediate focal point to anchor the space. In stairwells, the open design fills empty vertical space without feeling cramped.
