Glass Flush Mount Lights

Glass flush-mount ceiling lights can be installed in any room of your home for a space-saving and practical solution. Their low profile makes them an easy choice for smaller spaces and glass finishes help provide an even glow.

Which Glass Gives the Softest Light?

Flush mounts featuring an opal glass finish give the softest, most diffused glow. The milky quality of opal glass conceals the light bulb underneath, which prevents any spots of harsh glare. Frosted glass also provides a softer glow, but you’ll notice a more translucent finish compared to the opaque quality of opal glass.

Will Clear or Seeded Glass Cause Glare?

Both clear and seeded glass may cause some glare compared to other glass flush mount finishes. Clear glass offers an unobstructed view of the lightbulb which can cause spots of glare or harsh brightness. The scattered bubbles of seeded glass offer a softer brightness but still cause some factor of glare compared to a less transparent glass finish.

What Size Glass Flush Mount Suits My Room?

The best size of glass flush mount will depend on your room’s dimensions. To find the maximum width of your flush mount, add your room’s dimensions in feet. This will provide the recommended size in inches for your fixture. The height of the fixture matters too. Most rooms suit a true flush mount or a semi-flush mount with a 4-8 inch hang.

Can Glass Flush Mounts Go in Bathrooms and Laundry Rooms?

When choosing fixtures for bathrooms or laundry rooms, it’s important to find lights with the right rating. A damp or wet rating is often required due to the moisture in these spaces. Glass is a great material choice for damp spaces since it won’t accumulate mildew like fabric or woven finishes can.
