Black Recessed Lights

Black recessed lighting sits flush with your ceiling to add functional lighting and provide a seamless look. Recessed lighting is especially useful for maximizing headspace and evenly illuminating larger spaces.

Does a Black Trim Reduce Light Output?

One of the benefits of having a black trim on your recessed lighting is that it helps to minimize glare and harsh brightness. Lighter colours will reflect light, whereas black trim will absorb excess brightness and help soften and control the illumination.

What Size and Spacing Do I Need?

When installing your black recessed lighting, you’ll want to start by measuring your overall ceiling height. A general rule of thumb is to allow for half the total ceiling height between each recessed light.

The average ceiling height is 8 feet, which means you should place your recessed lights 4 feet apart. Most rooms require 4 inch recessed lights, with 3 inch mini lights being better for tight spaces like closets, and larger 6 inch recessed lights suiting extra tall ceilings and grand spaces.

Where Can Black Recessed Lights be Installed?

Black recessed lights can be useful for providing lighting in a variety of spaces. They can be used for general ambient lighting in bedrooms, basements or living rooms or as more focused task lighting above kitchen spaces and bathrooms, or offices and workshops.
